The Wedding QR Generator
Make a real, working QR code for any of the six uses. Free, no watermark, yours to keep.
Paste a shared album, form, registry or playlist link. Nothing is sent anywhere — the code is drawn in your browser.
Darker codes scan faster in low reception lighting. Keep the background white when you print.
Your Code
Scan to share your photos
SVG is the one to send your printer — it stays sharp at any size. Print at 1″ or larger and test it with two different phones before the day.
How It Works
How to make a wedding QR code that actually scans
A wedding QR code is a small square that opens a link when a guest points their phone camera at it. Couples use them to collect photos, run an RSVP, share the registry, post day-of details, take song requests and open a digital guest book. This free generator makes a real, working code for any of those uses, with no watermark, no sign-up and no expiry.
How to use the generator
- Pick what the code is for. Live photo upload, RSVP and meal choice, the registry, day-of details, song requests, a digital guest book, or something else. This fills in a suggested caption and an example link.
- Paste the link the code should open: a shared album, a form, a registry page or a playlist.
- Add a caption if you want text printed underneath, such as "Scan to share your photos."
- Pick a code color from the swatches. Darker codes scan faster in low reception lighting.
- Download the file. Use PNG for screens and quick printing, and SVG for the printer, because it stays sharp at any size.
Does the QR code expire?
This generator puts your link directly into the code. It doesn't send it through a redirect service or ask you to subscribe, and the code is drawn in your browser, so nothing is uploaded anywhere. That means the code has no expiry date of its own. It stops working only if the page it points to is deleted or its sharing settings change, so confirm your album, form or playlist link still works the week of the wedding.
Tips so every guest can scan it
- Print it large enough. Make it at least 1 inch square, and larger for signs people scan from a few feet away.
- Keep the white border. The blank margin around the code is part of how phones find it. Don't crop it off or print on a busy background.
- Use dark on light. A dark code on a white or very light background scans most reliably. Avoid inverting the colors.
- Test it on two phones before the day, ideally one iPhone and one Android, in the same lighting you will have at the reception.
- Check the link without being logged in. Open it in a private window to make sure guests won't be asked to sign in or request access.
- Shorter links make simpler codes. A long link makes a denser code that is harder to scan at small sizes, so use the shortest link that works.
Wedding QR code questions
Is this wedding QR code generator really free?
Yes. There is no watermark, no account and no paywall, and the files you download are yours to keep and print wherever you like.
What can I link a wedding QR code to?
Any web link. The generator has presets for photo uploads, RSVPs and meal choices, the registry, day-of details, song requests and a guest book, plus an option for anything else.
Should I download PNG or SVG?
PNG works for screens and for printing at home. SVG is the better file to send to a professional printer because it stays crisp at any size, from a table card to a large welcome sign.
How big should a wedding QR code be?
At least 1 inch square for table cards you hold in your hand, and larger for anything people will scan from farther away. Whatever size you choose, test it on a couple of phones before you print everything.
Can I put a QR code on my wedding invitation?
Yes. A common use is linking to an RSVP form or a wedding details page. Add a short printed line telling guests what the code does, since not every guest will assume it is for them to scan.
A QR code is only as reliable as the link behind it. Before you print, test the finished code and the page it opens.
